“Children carry our face into the future.”
I’m blessed with 12 grandchildren. The youngest, soon to be 3 years old, the oldest graduated college and soon to enter law school. And what brings me joy knowing they carry some of my DNA. But on each of their faces. I see a little bit of me.
My heart goes out for them as they grow and tackle new adventures and challenges: just like I did. They each have their own Being, personality, and particulars. And, in a way, I see a bit of me in those moments as well.
Do our children really carry us into the future? Do they hold what we once held and move it forward? At times I see my grandkids more like me than my own children. Is that generation gap concept really true? What say you?
