Opening the Energy Flow Throughout Meridians in the Body

What are meridians in the body?

In traditional Chinese medicine, the meridian is a path through which the life-energy known as “qi” flows. Meridians influence every organ and physiological system in the body. They also carry energy throughout the body.

Recently scientists at Seoul National University confirmed the existence of meridians, which they refer to as the “primo-vascular system.” They say that this system is a crucial part of the cardiovascular system. Read more…

There are 12 major meridians in the body, each one with two parallel branches flowing along each side of the body.

  1. Lung
  2. Heart
  3. Pericardium (circulation)
  4. Triple Burner
  5. Small Intestine
  6. Large Intestine
  7. Spleen
  8. Kidney
  9. Liver
  10. Gall Bladder
  11. Urinary bladder
  12. Stomach

The other 2 Meridians are single meridians known as the Governor, runs along the middle of the back and the Conception, runs along the middle of the front.

Through the flow of energy, meridians bring balance to the body. They remove energetic blocks, excesses and imbalances, regulate metabolism, and support cellular health. Their flow is as important as the flow of blood; your life and health rely on both.

Energetic imbalances, whether meridians are energy deficient or energy excessive, cause problems for the organ systems they regulate.
